A lot of people ask me, "How can you afford to travel the world, sharing yoga and doing what you love??", and although I often ask myself the same question, there are a few resources that I always turn to. One is through a Volunteer programme called Workaway.info. With Workaway I am able to live cheaply, offer my skills and experience going deeper into a local culture, living with the locals. Through Workaway I was lucky enough to find myself in the exotic southern Turkey, where I spent two months living and volunteering in a magical Retreat Centre over looking the Aegean Sea called Karakaya.

Sunset at Karakaya
Karakaya Retreat Centre is a truly wonderful place that offers Yoga retreats, Detoxes, Workshops, Festivals and so much more.
During my stay I was able to work alongside and experience a transformative Vipassana Retreat, with a truly exceptional teacher Jeff Oliver. This time of quiet and self connection allowed me to calm my mind and experience a deep sense of gratitude for every little moment, even if it was just focussing on the breath.

Morning Meditation
As well as experiencing the workshops Karakaya has to offer, I was also able to share the beautiful practice of yoga in a healing and deeply transformative environment. Early morning Yoga sessions became a ritual at Karakaya.

Whether its the opportunity to volunteer, or perhaps you want to attend or even host a retreat, Karakaya is a place close to my heart and top of my list to recommend visiting.
I will be forever grateful for the experience I had at Karakaya, it has left an imprint in my heart and will forever be part of my wonderful travelling yogic journey.
